Kim Kardashian’s back in her acting bag, and this time with a villain role that has a passion for fashion and a plan to shake up the Bratz universe.
TMZ confirmed she’s locked in to star in the upcoming live-action Bratz movie, and she’s not just acting, she’s also producing the entire project.
Sources say Amazon MGM won the project after a fierce bidding war. Now Kim’s stepping in with a power squad behind the scenes, teaming up with Picturestart’s Erik Feig and Julia Hammer, MGA’s Jason and Jasmin Larian, and Isaac Larian, who’s coming on as executive producer.
Writers Charlie Polinger and Lucy McKendrick are handling the script, but the storyline’s under wraps for now. Still, industry insiders are already calling it a bold play to ride the wave of Barbie’s massive box office success.
Kim’s been stacking up acting credits like clockwork. She starred in American Horror Story: Delicate, where she surprised fans with her performance as a high-powered publicist. She’s also set to star in and produce The Fifth Wheel for Netflix and leads Ryan Murphy’s upcoming Hulu drama All’s Fair.
With the Bratz movie on her plate, her mix of glam and edge could flip the entire brand on its head.
