Nearly eight years after the infamous Paris hotel robbery, Kim Kardashian has returned to testify in court about the horrific ordeal.
On Tuesday, the Skims founder spoke candidly about what went through her mind as armed men stormed her luxury suite.
She described being dragged in just a robe, which fell open as one of the attackers yanked her toward him. “Exposing everything on my body,” she recalled. At that moment, she feared the worst. “I was sure that I was going to be raped,” she said.
Instead, the intruders tied her legs and demanded her valuables. Though it became clear the motive was robbery, Kardashian said she never stopped thinking she was going to die. “I absolutely did think I was gonna die,” she told the court.
Kardashian recalled pleading with the robbers. “I have babies and I need to get home to my babies,” she begged. One of them told her to “shut up,” according to her testimony.
The situation escalated when they tossed her onto the bed with her hands and feet tied. Believing they were about to kill her, Kardashian said a silent prayer.
“I said a prayer for my family and my mom and my sister and best friend,” she shared, adding that her sister Kourtney was due back at the hotel. “I believed I would be shot dead on the bed and she would see that and have that memory forever.”
After the suspects fled, Kardashian was dropped on the bathroom floor. Once she was sure they were gone, she managed to untie herself and hop to her stylist’s room for help.
She admitted that prior to the heist, she had always felt safe in Paris. Since then, her sense of security has completely changed. Kardashian now travels with multiple bodyguards at all times, even at her private home in California.
Ten individuals, known as “Grandpa robbers,” are currently on trial for their roles in the robbery, which involved millions in stolen jewelry.
