Last night, Kim Kardashian was presented the Fashion Icon Award at the 2021 People’s Choice Awards, where she thanked Kanye West for introducing her to the fashion world.
Kim expressed her gratitude and said she was honored to receive this year’s award from last year’s winner Tracee Ellis Ross. But the most intriguing moment was her nod to her estranged husband.
During her speech, she stated that she was inspired by a large number of people. However, she made certain to thank her ex: “to Kanye for really introducing me to the fashion world.”
She explained how she first started off as a closet organizer and a stylist, so getting the honor felt like a “pinch-me moment.”
“I fell in love with fashion and I’m so inspired by so many people but again, this is like a dream that I get to wake up and wear these amazing clothes and try new things and take a risk.”
