Another day, another Kodak Black dragging. Only this time, it was by fans of the late Kobe Bryant who felt that the rapper was being insensitive with his tribute post.
On Monday, the “No Flockin” rapper, who turned 24 last week, posted a photo of himself rocking a Kobe Bryant Lakers jersey next to a purple and yellow custom Tesla Model X. Also featured in the picture was a helicopter, which sported the famous Lakers colors as well. This rubbed many people the wrong way, with social media wasting no time blasting Kodak for seemingly making light of Bryant’s death.
As we all know by now, Bryant, along with his daughter Gigi Bryant and seven others, perished in a fiery helicopter crash on January 26th, 2020. With this in mind, supporters of Bryant could not understand why the rapper would be posing next to a tricked-out chopper “dedicated” to the NBA legend.
One Twitter user wrote, “This is mad disrespectful with the helicopter in the background… I don’t think this guy has gotten enough hate for this.”

Another user said that Yak was “very high on the cornball list.”

Now, while Kodak did not respond directly to the criticism, he took to his Instagram Story Monday evening to post a photo of Bryant’s daughter, Capri, wishing her a happy birthday.
“@kobebryant That’s krazy her first name my last name & both us Gemini’s, HappyBirthday Capri..#FlyHighKobe,” he wrote on the Story post.
