Kodak Black has already posted bail after turning himself in on Monday for violating his pretrial supervision conditions.
Florida’s favorite “Super Gremlin” was booked into the Broward County Jail this week after recently failing to show up for a drug court-mandated drug test. These conditions stem from his July 2022 arrest for trafficking oxycodone and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription. Since Black missed his recent check-in, he was forced to turn himself in.
On Monday, his attorneys argued that Black’s strict pretrial supervision should be eased. A judge agreed, but only if the “Transportin'” rapper paid a higher bond. The amount was bumped up from $75,000, which was his original bond for last year’s arrest. Now, Black had to come up with $250,000 to return home.
Before he turned himself in, Black went on IG Live Sunday, where he vented about his ongoing legal struggles. Many fans expressed concerns about the 26-year-old, who said that his many “good deeds” are never publicized, like his legal troubles. He also pointed out that his pending drug case was “unjust.”
Throughout his career, Black has had multiple run-ins with the law for various reasons. In November 2019, he was sentenced to three years in federal prison for gun charges. Former President Donald Trump pardoned him in January 2020. In April 2021, he pleaded guilty to first-degree assault in his rape case from a 2016 incident where a young woman claimed he sexually assaulted her in a hotel room. He was given a 10-year suspended sentence and 18 months of probation in that case.
