Actor LaKeith Stanfield has been busy starting a family away from the spotlight.
The “Atlanta” star revealed this week that he not only married his boo, Kasmere Trice, but that they welcomed a child together. He and Trice spoke exclusively with People, granting them access to their new bundle of joy. The couple told the outlet that they wanted to keep their family private for as long as possible and protect their little one from the constant public gaze.
“There needs to be things that exist that are sacred and not for consumption for everybody. We want to be the ones to tell our story. We’re bringing our family forward so we may inspire others,” Stanfield explained.
The couple may have kept this update out of the news, but there were clues.
On June 18th, Trice shared an Instagram photo of Stanfield wearing a “Husband” sweatshirt. In that post, she shared multiple images of the 31-year-old with his children, careful to keep their faces concealed. Trice also ensured she didn’t include her own pregnancy in the photos and ended the caption with, “Love your wife.”

The former Ralph Lauren model and Stanfield have been dating since at least September 2022, with them getting engaged in December of that year. Shortly after he and Trice shared their exciting news, his secret ex-fling, an artist named Tylor Hurd, blasted him for keeping their child and relationship a secret from the world while he paraded Trice on social media. Stanfield also shares a six-year-old daughter with his ex-wife, actress Xosha Roquemore.
Stanfield and Trice have not yet revealed the name or gender of the baby but did share several images of the adorable baby in their People spread. The duo also kept details regarding their wedding under wraps.
