Lala Anthony Breaks Her Silence on Split With Carmelo Anthony

Lala Anthony has broken her silence about her divorce from NBA star Carmelo Anthony.

The television personality turned actress opened up on Power 105.1 to her longtime friend Angie Martinez about the separation from her husband of 11 years. While many people believe their split is relatively new, she admitted that they have been apart for “years now.”

“Like, to a lot of people, it feels like this single thing is new like it’s been years now that we’ve separated,” she stated.

The 39-year-old says she is finally at a point where she can speak openly about the break-up after overcoming the initial heartbreak.

“I’ve dealt with the emotions behind it, and I still have my moments, but for the most part, I can talk about it now and laugh about it and find the humor in it all. Otherwise, I would be a basket case.”

Lala did not go into details about what her breaking point was in the relationship but says that the “s***t really hit me hard.” Nevertheless, the “Power” star refused to air out her dirty laundry on social media due to “other people involved.”

It has been rumored for the past few years that Carmelo Anthony fathered a daughter outside of his marriage to Lala, though he has never spoken publicly about the child.

Despite being newly single, Lala says she’s not yet dating. She is also not sure if she wants to be married again.

“I don’t know what God has in store for me. I’m just living and taking care of my son, and whatever’s supposed to be, will be,” she stated.
