Lark Voorhies To Talk Mental Health

”Saved By The Bell” Star Lark Voorhies Will Open Up About Her Mental Health Struggles On the Dr. Oz Show

Lark Voorhies, most popularly known as Lisa Turtle in the 90’s NBC hit “Saved By The Bell,” is returning to television, this time detailing her personal struggles with mental illness.

The 45-year-old actress revealed in an Instagram post that she will be appearing on an upcoming episode of the Dr. Oz Show to share her journey with an unspecified mental disorder.

” I want to thank everybody who has been so supportive throughout my journey these last several years. It was very hard to find the right way to talk about some of the challenges that I go through on a daily basis,” she wrote.

” I am very grateful to Dr. Oz, Dr. Modir, my mother, and all of you that have supported me and wished me well through some difficult times. I hope to bring more mental health awareness to help others going through the same challenges,” she added.

In 2012, Voorhies’ mother, Tricia, revealed to People that her daughter was bipolar. However, when asked by ABC News that same year, if the diagnosis was indeed true, Voorhies responded, “no comment.”

The episode is set to air tomorrow.
