LaTocha Scott has shared an optimistic update about the state of her relationship with her sister, Tamika.

The Xscape singer sat down with the “Big Tigger Morning Show,” where she dished on the aftermath of her “Residuals” freestyle. After the video of her covering Chris Brown’s hit single went viral, Tamika told “The Rickey Smiley Show” that despite her sister expressing she wished to be closer to her, LaTocha had not reached out. She urged her estranged sibling to “pull up.” According to LaTocha, she reached out immediately after hearing Tamika’s comments.
“Listen, like I said, when you’re singing and you’re coming from your heart, it reaches the heart. I was able to reach my sister through that song. So I’m grateful for just that interview alone because as soon as I heard it, I was like, ‘I got to call her,’” LaTocha shared with Tigger.
The ladies had been estranged for quite some time, with some of their drama playing out on the Bravo series, “Xscape Still Kickin’ It.” Tamika accused her sister and her husband, Rocky Bivens, of stealing money from her. LaTocha also decided to walk away from Xscape to focus on her own solo career. The group continued touring without the vocalist. During her interview with Tigger, LaTocha revealed just how long it had been since she’d communicated with Tamika.
“We had our first talk in two years. So that’s what music does,” she stated. “It was a good talk. It was a really good talk.”
It’s unclear if LaTocha will pick up where she left off with the group, but it seems the sisters are making strides toward healing.
