Layzie Bone Isn’t Surprised That The Bone Thugs-N-Harmony Street Signs Were Stolen: “Those Signs Are Probably Hanging On Somebody’s Bedroom Wall”

Layzie Bone has shared his perspective on the recent theft of street signs dedicated to Bone Thugs-N-Harmony.

In a recent interview with AllHipHop, Layzie Bone shared that while the theft of the street signs was surprising, its initial impact might not have been as shocking as it seemed.

“To be honest, when I saw the signs going up, I felt like they were coming down. They were so well put together with the name and then the group picture on the actual sign, too. I saw fans salivating to have one of their own. It felt like a piece of Bone memorabilia. Like a piece of history,” he said. “I believe the culprit or culprits behind the theft could’ve been haters or fans, but I’m leaning more toward the fans because Bone Thugs-N-Harmony’s love in the city far outweigh the hate. My city is rough and tough, ‘thuggish ruggish’ even.”

Additionally, the rapper gave a possible explanation of why the street signs were stolen.

“The vibrations in the hood is low from poverty, so kids do whatever they can do to get the things they desire, and Bone memorabilia is one of those things,” he added. “Those signs are probably hanging on somebody’s bedroom wall. We have work to do to uplift our community.”

In June, news emerged that Bone Thugs-N-Harmony was set to receive the special honor. This initiative was sparked by a petition initiated by a fan named Felicia C. Haney, who is also the proprietor of Beach Street Publicity, along with the collaboration of Juan Goodwin.

However, last Sunday, the street sign “Bone Thugs-N-Harmony Way,” located at the crossroads of East 99th Street and St. Clair Avenue in Cleveland, their hometown, was reported as stolen.
