In a recent interview, the Los Angeles Lakers star reflected on his marriage to Savannah, acknowledging that their relationship has its flaws like any other.

Speaking on “360 with Speedy,” James admitted that the image of a perfect relationship does not exist.

“I’m gonna be honest, a relationship is never picture perfect,” he said, adding that the reality of love involves moments of difficulty and compromise.

The couple’s history stretches back to their teenage years, making their bond one of the most publicized long-term relationships in sports. James pointed out that decades together come with challenges.

“We’ve been together since high school, so, s**t ain’t always gonna be a bed of roses, in any relationship, let alone someone you’re living with for over 20 years.”

What keeps their marriage strong, according to James, is a commitment to face hardships together.

“If you’re okay with working through the hardships and the adverse moments, then it will make it all worth it,” he explained.

He went on to outline the principles he believes are most important for a lasting partnership.

“I think communication is number one. Being honest is number two,” James said. “Number three is, just like, you have to be okay with being uncomfortable in relationships sometimes. You can’t always have it your way, it’s not gonna work that way.”

Despite the imperfections, LeBron and Savannah continue to build their life together.

The couple, who first began dating in high school, recently celebrated 12 years of marriage, a milestone that reflects their enduring dedication.
