Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James and Detroit Pistons Isaiah Stewart were both suspended for an altercation between the two during Sunday night’s game.
James received a one-game suspension, the first of his career. Stewart received a two-game suspension for his part in the incident.
The league announced the suspensions on Monday. Stewart was suspended for “escalating an on-court altercation by repeatedly and aggressively” going after James. The NBA says James was suspended for “recklessly hitting Stewart in the face.”

James hit Stewart in the head with his elbow and hand while fighting for a rebound in the third quarter. Stewart, who began bleeding, lost his mind over the incident and kept going after James. He had to be held back by his coaches and teammates.
