Lena Waithe and Wife Alana Mayo Split Just 2 Months After Announcing Their Marriage

Lena Waithe and Alana Mayo have separated.

The couple who wed last year after three years of dating, announced the split in a joint statement on Wednesday.

According to People, the statement read, “After careful thought and consideration, we have decided to part ways. We have nothing but support for one another and ask that you respect our privacy during this time.”

The announcement comes just two months after Waite revealed on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” that the couple married in a secret ceremony last August. “We snuck and did it, you know. We didn’t really make any announcements or a big … you know,”Waithe said.

According to B.Scott, the couple’s sudden separation is due in no small part to Waithe’s history of infidelity, which was an issue even before they tied the knot.

A source told Scott, “Even after they married, Lena was still buying designer gifts — Chanel, Gucci — for other women.”
