The Chicago native sat down with Fly Girls Talk to tell her side of the story. Reese is currently serving five years in prison for assaulting Kimani during their relationship. In one incident, Kimani says the “Us” performer struck her when she went to pick up their child.
“I was getting ready to leave Chicago and I was just hesitating on going to pick my baby up because I knew he was going to try to fight me, she admitted, “So, I went and picked her up and he slapped the f**k out of me.”
Kimani says his mother and two other women were present during the ordeal, though no one intervened.
In another instance that occurred while she was pregnant, Kimani says Reese became upset and tried to fight her while trying to take her cell phone. Becoming fearful for herself and her unborn child, Kimani admits she retrieved a knife but only held it so that Reese would not come near her. Reese reacted by pulling out a gun and aiming it at her, which was captured on their home surveillance system and shared online.
“He was just aggressive as f**k with my phone. I mean, trying to take my phone from me. And I was on the phone with my mama the whole time. But when he seen I had the knife, he was just kind of like ‘I got something for you,’” Kimani explained, adding that the firearm he grabbed was registered to her.
Kimani believes Reese was trying to scare her, but pointed out that the situation could have turned deadly.
“That s**t really hurt me. I ain’t gonna lie because I’m just like, ‘Why would you?’ It’s like I’m one of your ops. You’re upping the gun on me like I’m one of your ops…Now, let’s just say the gun would have accidentally went off,” she explained.
Reese’s camp has not responded to her story.
