Since everyone’s been talking about Lil Uzi Vert’s new $24 million forehead diamond, it seems only right that Uzi himself explain the thought process behind such an expensive accessory.
On Friday, Uzi gave a detailed explanation to his fans during an interview with Fat Joe on Instagram Live.
The 26-year-old rapper revealed that he got the diamond first, with the intention of getting the gem put in a ring but changed his mind. The rapper said he decided to do something completely different with the jewel, implanting the $24 million stone in his head- so he wouldn’t lose it.
“I’m Lil Uzi. I’m turnt up. So $24 million on a ring is the stupidest idea because I’m gonna look down, and that ring ain’t gon’ be there,” he explained. “I know me. I wake up in odd places and different sceneries.”
Uzi, who has experience with micro dermal piercings, thought hard on where to place the diamond before mounting it on his forehead- a spot many people argued against.
“Don’t think it was just a ‘come on, let’s go get his money,’” the rapper told Fat Joe. “No, bro, they argued me down. It’s almost insane to the average person, or to any person.”
