Lil Uzi Vert is planning on writing a fantasy fiction book.
Lil Uzi is expanding his pen skills into creative writing. The Associated Press reports that the rapper will be writing a fantasy fiction book under his management company, Roc Nation’s, new partnership with publishing company Random House.
This move comes after Jay-Z’s Roc Nation launched its new venture Roc Lit 101. Jay-Z authored the book “Decoded” 10 years ago, and now he seems to be moving more business prospects in that direction. Random House and Roc lit 101 said that it plans on offering “books at the dynamic intersection of entertainment and genre-defying literature.”
Joining Lil Uzi on the book-writing journey is Meek Mill, who plans on writing a book on “criminal justice and survival.” Yo Gotti and Fat Joe will also be releasing memoirs under Roc Lit 101. In addition, Roc Lit 101 will be sending out children’s stories, cookbooks, and more, according to XXL Mag. Another upcoming book from the imprint will be a memoir from retired MLB star CC Sabathia called “Till the End.” A story about Black women in music entitled “Shine Bright” written by music journalist Danyel Smith is also in the works.
Signing on to oversee Roc Lit 101 is Chris Jackson, the publisher, and editor-in-chief of the Random House imprint One World, XXL Mag reports. Jackson will work alongside Jana Fleishman, executive vice president of Roc Nation.
