The YSL trial’s star witness, Lil Woody, is sending prayers to Young Thug in an emotional Instagram post.
Woody, whose real name is Kenneth Copeland, has been deemed by some to be a snitch. Others view him as an advocate for Thug. Nevertheless, he shared a lengthy caption alongside a photo of the “Ski” rapper, asking a higher power to intervene.
“Father God we need you now more than ever I pray that you answer our prayer and free Jeffery & co-defendants. The world has seen the treatment our justice system has done to us lock us up forced us to tell untruthful stories. The mistreatment is crazy,” he wrote. “Wrong is wrong we have sympathy for all the victims and their families as kids bad choices are made and punishment is acceptable but this is a different story this is corruption this is madness and very personal.”
Woody gained notoriety during his now-viral testimony. During his time on the stand, Woody admitted to pinning crimes on Thug to escape his own legal situations. He was also combative on the stand, claiming that he couldn’t remember key elements of his past statements, many of which helped build the case. Woody has begun a media career of sorts, going on several platforms, such as The Danza Project and DJ UTV.
“God you know our heart and mindset you know our growth please touch the wicked and change their heart and release them 6 men that’s fighting for their life everyday in that court room. They have family that loves them and need them,” his IG caption added.
Meanwhile, Thug remains on trial for allegedly running YSL as a gang, though he has maintained it is simply a record label. As the case drags on with no end in sight, some legal experts predict the case may not conclude until 2027.
