Lil Yachty surprised fans on the latest episode of Club Shay Shay when he addressed his past relationship with Mariah the Scientist.
Many fans didn’t even know they had formally dated, but Shannon Sharpe was determined to get the scoop.

Without directly naming Mariah, Sharpe brought up the Caresha Please interview, where Mariah spoke candidly about their split. Yachty was caught off guard at first but quickly laughed it off before owning up to his role in the breakup.
“I was a sht person to her, and she was really great,” Yachty admitted. “She didn’t sht on me. She didn’t tell no lies. I brought it upon myself.”
Yachty went on to express respect for Mariah, sending her love and acknowledging her as a great person.
Sharpe also threw in a couple of questions that really got Yachty thinking. He asked if Yachty had heard Mariah’s song about their relationship, and whether he had ever met her family. Yachty laughed again, admitting that he had met her family and mentioned how the music made everything seem extra dramatic. He added that his persona tends to make most women not like him.
In a rare moment of reflection, the Lil Boat rapper showed maturity by taking accountability for his actions in the relationship while maintaining respect for Mariah.
