Lil Yachty explains how his “Supersoak” track featuring Drake was intentionally leaked.
The 26-year-old rapper recently joined the Flagrant podcast on Wednesday and had an interesting conversation, especially about how his unreleased “Supersoak” song made headlines. The single first hit social media users after popular streamer Kai Cenat played a snippet of the track on one of his videos. Of course, the record garnered attention with fans anticipating its release. But, unfortunately, Yachty revealed that song would remain under wraps since influencer Mr. HotSpot opted to not clear a sample that was included on the record.
“I sent a song to Kai to leak,” Yachty said. “We couldn’t get the sample cleared so I just let Kai play it.”
Shortly after, host Andrew Schulz questioned if the song would ever be released to the general public, which Yachty quickly refuted.
“No, but it’s everywhere,” he added.
The rapper then explains that the song features a sample from Mr. Hotspot, who he claims have turned his life around and chose not be involved with the record due to religious reasons.
“He went down like a Christian path…it was crazy, everyone was like, ‘Are you serious?'” Yachty continued.
Elsewhere in the interview, Yachty spoke on Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s recent feud, saying the 6 God is “genuinely unfazed” by Lamar’s antics.
“He’s still that n*gga. They both still that n*gga. What’s gon’ change? They both gon’ do they thing,” he said. “I talked to him and that sh*t didn’t bother him. As it shouldn’t. He’s the f*cking guy. If I had $700 million you couldn’t talk to me either.”
Additionally, Yachty also said that he regrets “inserting himself” into Drake’s beef with Lamar and wishes that he never “spoke on it.” It’s unclear on how Yachty came to that decision but it’s probably because Lamar name-dropped him in his “Euphoria” diss towards Drake.
“Yachty can’t give you no swag neither, I don’t give a f*ck ’bout who you hang with,” Lamar rapped.
