Speaking to Palmer, the Grammy winner reflected on her first arena tour in 2023 with the Watch Out for the Big Grrrls dancers, which sadly concluded on a sour note.
“I was literally living in my dream,” Lizzo shared, “and then the tour ended, and three ex-dancers just completely, like, blindsided me with a lawsuit.”
The 36-year-old described feeling “very deeply hurt,” adding, “These were people that I gave opportunities to…I liked them and appreciated them as dancers.”
The August 2023 lawsuit, filed by Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez, accused Lizzo of sexual harassment, racial discrimination, and fostering a hostile work environment. In one claim, she was accused of pressuring a dancer to touch a nude performer inside a European nightclub. Lizzo vehemently denied the allegations, calling the claims “silly” and affirming, “Let’s be clear, I did nothing wrong.”
Lizzo also addressed a second lawsuit from stylist Asha Daniels, who alleged a “racist and sexualized environment.” While Lizzo was dismissed as a defendant, Daniels’ lawyer clarified the case is ongoing.
The “Good as Hell” star admitted that the ordeal left her much more mindful of viewing her staff as friends, suggesting that better boundaries may be established moving forward.
In recent months, she has been the subject of ongoing social media slander, particularly surrounding her weight loss journey. Lizzo has documented her workout routines online, which has unfortunately made her a target for internet trolls.
