A middle school principal has been arrested after confessing to having sex with a boy.
According to New York Post, Ashleigh Landry told authorities that she had sex with a teen boy. The 44-year-old is a resident of Raceland, Lousiana, and worked as a principal at Lockport Middle School when she had an illegal relationship with the unidentified teen.
The Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office began investigating Landry earlier this month when they learned she was sexting the teen. Police then brought Landry in for an interview where she revealed that she did have sex with the boy.
The pedophile was arrested on Wednesday and was charged with carnal knowledge of a juvenile. The charge indicates that the victim was between 13 and 16 years old. There are no details on whether or the child attended her school. Police released Landry from Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex in Thibodaux on $25,000 bail.
New York Post reports that she was fired from her role at the school. On Thursday, the school released a statement saying they were aware of the charges against her. “We will certainly work closely with the Sheriff’s department to ensure that a complete and thorough investigation into the matter is conducted,” the district said.
