LSU Tigers star Flau’jae Johnson is teaming up with Experian to wipe out $5 million in debt for Louisiana families.

Announced on Friday, March 14th, Johnson will serve as a spokesperson for the initiative, directly benefiting 5,000 families in the state.

A standout in women’s college basketball and an emerging music artist, Johnson is also a junior business major, making her a strong advocate for financial literacy.

“You know what’s bigger than basketball? Financial empowerment,” she says in a new commercial. “Finances are tough, and Experian is helping the next generation pursue their dreams. That’s why I’m excited to announce Experian is wiping out five million of debt for families in Louisiana. … Money isn’t everything, but you need it to live a good life. The Experian app can help you save time and money, build your credit and help you gain more knowledge in finances.”

In a press release, she adds, “It’s hard to create a winning financial game plan when you are blocked by debt. I am excited to partner with Experian to empower families in the state and across the country so they can become financial champions of their future.”

Experian launched the initiative as consumer debt hits record highs.

“Unmanageable debt prevents consumers from achieving their goals,” says Experian Consumer Services president, Dacy Yee.

The announcement comes just ahead of the 2025 NCAA tournament. Despite a recent injury, Johnson, LSU’s leading scorer, is expected to make her return.
