Home Alone star Macaulay Culkin will be joining the cast of American Horror Story in its 10th season.
The Hollywood Reporter reported on Wednesday that Culkin will be hitting the spooky set alongside AHS alums Sarah Paulsen and Evan Peters, who sat the last season out, according to the publication.
The Ryan Murphy-led anthology series is heading into its 10th season and will re-cast some of its former actors, including Kathy Bates, Angelica Ross, Billie Lourd, Finn Wittrock, and more. This will be Culkin’s first regular role in a television series. While Culkin is widely known for his child acting career, he hasn’t completely moved away from TV screens, guest-starring in programs like Dollface, Robot Chicken, and Kings.
The 39-year-old actor also just wrapped up an interview with Esquire, in which he shared why he took a break from acting. “I enjoy acting. I enjoy being on set. I don’t enjoy a lot of the other things that come around it. What’s a good analogy. The Shawshank Redemption. The way he gets out of prison is to crawl through a tube of shit, you know? It feels like to get to that kind of freedom, I’d have to crawl through a tube of shit. And you know what? I’ve built a really nice prison for myself. It’s soft. It’s sweet. It smells nice. You know? It’s plush,” Culkin said.
In celebration of having Culkin join the squad, Murphy, who is also the showrunner of the series, posed the news via Instagram. THR reports that American Horror Story is the most-watched original series and just picked up a three-season renewal.
Season 10 is expected to premiere sometime in fall 2020.
