DJ Khaled has been making major moves over the past couple of months. He recently announced his new deal with Apple, new management with Roc Nation and today Khaled has announced that he and his We The Best Music Group have signed a deal with Epic Records, reuniting him with L.A. Reid.
“Khaled is a supremely gifted artist and social media guru whose music has defined hip-hop and R&B for the past decade,” said Reid, who is responsible for signing the record producer to Def Jam in 2008. “With an extremely loyal fan base radiating worldwide out of Miami, every new release by Khaled has now become a firestorm event and his devoted legion of fans only grows bigger by the day. With Khaled’s passion and creative savvy, together with our dedicated and versatile staff, we are poised to reach even greater heights together than every before.”
Khaled announced his new deal on snapchat, Monday morning. “We’re celebrating a new deal, We the Best Epic. That’s right, we the best EPIC,” Khaled repeated, as he made a huge purchase at the jewelers to celebrate.
“La Reid was the first executive to give We The Best Music an opportunity to distribute my music on a grand scale,” Khaled said in a statement. “It is a very satisfying feeling to realign myself with someone who shares my vision of bringing you the fans the best music possible.”
We The Best Music Group, founded in 2006, is Khaled’s own label, studio and management, publishing and production companies, according to Billboard. His first release under We The Best/Epic Records, titled ‘Major Key’, will be available soon.
In the meantime, Khaled wants everyone to know that he is in search of some new talent.
