The LA Police Department has apprehended a Minnesota man accused of murdering an aspiring model whose body was found in her downtown Los Angeles apartment’s refrigerator last year.
The medical examiner’s report stated that Maleesa Mooney, 31, was found dead on Sept. 12, with blunt force trauma to her head, torso, and arms, attributing her death to ‘homicidal violence.’
According to reports, Mooney was found gagged with her wrists and ankles bound together, tied behind her back with electronic cords and clothing items.
Additionally, toxicology tests revealed traces of cocaine and alcohol in her system.
Police say they have apprehended the suspect they think is responsible for the murder of Mooney after Magnus Daniel Humphrey, 41, from Hopkins, Minnesota, was arrested on an unrelated federal warrant.
Humphrey was brought to L.A. to face a murder charge after waiving extradition.
So far, no further details about his connection to Mooney or her death have been released.
