A passenger sleeping on a subway car was fatally stabbed early Sunday morning in New York City. The attack happened as the No. 2 train was pulling into Penn Station.
The 34-year-old victim was stabbed in the neck around 12:15 a.m. The unidentified victim was brought to Bellevue Hospital by EMS, where he succumbed to his injuries.
After a preliminary investigation, police do not believe there is any connection between the attacker and the victim. They are now searching for the suspect, who fled the station. He was caught on camera, covered in blood.
The New York City Police Department released photos of the attacker. No arrests have been made yet, and police are asking for the public’s help.
The wanted man is about 5’9” tall, 185 pounds, with a medium build and dark complexion. He had a black face mask on and wore a gray jacket, black pants, black shoes, a white shirt with an orange-and-black checkered hood, and a white hat.
