Reggie Bernard Ray, known for swinging a chair during the Alabama Riverfront brawl, will not serve time behind bars if he can stay out of trouble.
According to TMZ, Ray pleaded guilty but won’t go to jail. Instead, he must complete 50 hours of community service, pay $357 for court costs, and avoid trouble for 90 days to stay out of jail.
As you know, Ray went viral back in August after he was involved in a racially motivated altercation at the Montgomery waterfront.
In videos shared online, a white man could be seen hitting a Black riverboat co-captain over a parking dispute, and things got out of control after that.
Eventually, Ray and three other individuals involved in the brawl turned themselves into the police.
According to reports, Reggie Ray’s lawyer launched a GoFundMe after he was charged with disorderly conduct. So far, nearly $300,000 has been raised for his medical bills, lost wages, and other expenses.
