Marine Disciplined After Calling Charlie Kirk “Racist” Online; Pete Hegseth Orders Crackdown on Military Social Media Posts

Captain Jacoby Williamson

A U.S. Marine has been fired from his recruiting job after being accused of mocking Charlie Kirk’s death online.

According to a report by the Daily Mail, Captain Jacoby Williamson, a Marine since 2013, is under investigation after he posted a photo of Kirk’s final interview segment titled “DEI in the Cockpit” on Instagram with the caption, “Another racist man popped,” accompanied by a beer-toast emoji.

The post was brought to the attention of the LibsOfTikTok account, who asked: 'Hi @PeteHegseth, can you please fire this lunatic?'

The post quickly caught national attention after it was flagged by LibsOfTikTok, who tagged United States Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, and urged action. Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell confirmed Williamson was relieved of duty, and the incident is under formal review.

“It is unacceptable for military personnel and Department of War civilians to celebrate or mock the assassination of a fellow American,” Hegseth posted on Twitter. “The Department of War has zero tolerance for it.”

Williamson isn’t the only one facing consequences. Secret Service agent Anthony Pough was placed on leave after calling Kirk’s death “karma” in a now-deleted Facebook post. Conservatives have also launched a website to track such posts.

Kirk, a conservative media figure, was fatally shot during a speaking event at Utah Valley University. The suspect, Tyler Robinson, was arrested after his father handed him over to the police.

Hell of a thing when you can’t voice your opinion anymore.
