The Philadelphia Eagles sustained a discouraging loss to the New York Jets in the Meadowlands on Sunday, 14-20. Scoring only ten points in the second half, Jalen Hurts is eager to move past this game. Despite having moments where his elusive play posed a challenge for the Jets’ defense.
Hurts threw for three interceptions and was sacked twice while being hurried ten times. He was running for his life but managed not to be touched so often, electing to run out of bounds when multiple plays had lost momentum. In a late third-quarter situation during a failed third-down conversion, Hurts again eluded the Jets’ attempts to bring him down by running out of bounds.
Former NFL Quarterback Mark Sanchez, notably known for his butt fumble back in 2012, could not believe his former team had such a tough time getting Hurts down.
“I mean, are you kidding me? They can’t get this guy to the turf. Jalen Hurts-what is he? Like a salmon covered in vaseline, bro, this guy’s just too slippery! He refuses to go down!”
