Mary J. Blige fans looking forward to her performing at the Lovers & Friends Festival are in for a disappointing update.
Unfortunately, Blige told fans she would not be hitting the stage during the May 4th concert. The “Real Love” singer says her name being included on the flyer was a mistake.
“I am beyond humbled by the response from all of you about the announcement of me on Lovers & Friends Festival. Unfortunately, my inclusion was an error as I will be busy in preparation for my Strength of a Woman Summit just one week later! I have the greatest fans in the world and can’t wait to see you in New York in a few short months!” Blige wrote on Instagram.
While Lovers & Friends sounds like a grand time, Blige has much to celebrate as she directs the third year of her popular Strength of a Woman Festival and Summit, which brings a variety of speakers, workshops, and performances all geared towards women empowerment. Launched in 2022, the festival is a collaboration between Blige and Live Nation Urban. Amazon Music and CVS are also partners for this year’s event. Blige’s star-studded weekend will take place this year in New York City, kicking off on May 10th and concluding on May 12th.
While this is certainly a disappointment for Blige lovers headed to Las Vegas for the concert, they still have an incredible lineup waiting for them. Janet Jackson, Usher, Alicia Keys, Backstreet Boys, Lil Wayne, Nas, Nelly, Akon, Ciara, TLC, Ludacris, and Plies are just a handful of acts taking the stage during Lovers & Friends.
