Luka Doncic was nothing short of dominant last night, and the Dallas Mavericks had a 50-point win over the Utah Jazz. It was the second-worst defeat in Utah’s history. It’s only right that Luka had a first-half triple-double. When the halftime buzzer sounded, one of the league’s best had 29 points, ten rebounds, and ten assists.
“That was an absolutely horrendous performance from start to finish. That was a masterpiece of dogsh**,” head coach Will Hardy said as he described their deflating performance Wednesday night.
Luka is the kind of player you never want to see smelling blood because he’s a shark on the court. Not only does he rack up points, but he’ll make sure you know about it. His laughter gets under the opponent’s skin, as was clear when Kris Dunn and Luka got tangled up in the third quarter. Guard Collin Sexton later separated them. Dunn pointed his finger in Luka’s face as he laughed at how angry Dunn had become. The refs decided to give out double technicals. Doncic was dismayed by the call in leaked audio from the game.
“Yo, what happened?” Doncic asked the refs once he received the technical foul. “I didn’t do nothing, he’s just mad I’m busting his ass,” Doncic said. I told you he knows how to get under your skin.

Doncic finished the game with 40 points, 11 rebounds, and ten assists. As we ramp up the NBA season, it’ll be interesting to see if Doncic’s MVP odds begin to change.
