The family of Ghislaine Maxwell is turning up the pressure after the Trump administration’s Justice Department said flat out—there is no Epstein client list.
In a new statement, the Maxwell family called out what they see as a clear case of the government breaking its word. They claim Ghislaine’s 20-year prison sentence is rooted in a promise that was made, then ignored. Now, they’re preparing to take that argument all the way to the Supreme Court.
Her legal team says the next step is filing a reply to the DOJ’s stance and, if needed, submitting a writ of habeas corpus to a federal court. That move would allow them to present new evidence, including what they describe as government misconduct that may have flipped the outcome of Maxwell’s trial.
One of her attorneys, David Oscar Marcus, took direct aim at the Trump White House, saying, “I’d be surprised if President Trump knew his lawyers were asking the Supreme Court to let the government break a deal.” He continued, calling Trump the “ultimate dealmaker” who would never co-sign the government walking away from a commitment.
The family’s frustration comes just days after Attorney General Pam Bondi and DOJ officials officially dismissed claims that a hidden Epstein client list even exists. That decision has sparked outrage within Trump’s MAGA base, where many expected “the list” to surface once Republicans regained power. Instead, the DOJ ruled Epstein’s death a suicide and made it clear—there’s no list, no secret records, and no major bombshell left to uncover.
The Maxwell family isn’t convinced. They’re pushing back hard, accusing the government of cherry-picking what gets revealed—and who gets punished.

They’re not the only ones side-eyeing the Justice Department. MAGA influencers, conservative lawmakers, and political commentators have all questioned why names linked to Epstein haven’t been released, especially now that the administration they supported is officially shutting the book on the case.
Still, Maxwell’s family says they’re not waiting on political waves. They’re going straight through the courts, ready to expose what they believe is a system that punished their sister while protecting others. And with legal documents coming soon, the fight over Ghislaine Maxwell’s fate—and what really went down with Epstein—is far from over.
Stay tuned.
