McDonald’s is expanding its menu with a new chicken option this spring. The company has announced the launch of McCrispy Strips along with a new Creamy Chili Dip, both of which will be available at participating locations across the U.S. starting May 5.
This is McDonald’s first new permanent menu item in the U.S. since 2021. According to the company, the new offering was developed in response to customer feedback calling for more chicken options.
The McCrispy Strips are made with 100 percent white meat chicken and coated in crispy breading seasoned with black pepper. The new Creamy Chili Dip is a blend of sweet, savory, and mildly spicy flavors, created to complement the strips.
“Our goal was to develop a product that matches what our customers are looking for in a chicken option,” said Alyssa Buetikofer, Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer at McDonald’s. “We took our time, listened to feedback, and created something we think our customers will enjoy.”
The strips will be available in three- and four-piece servings and will come with one or two dipping sauces. In addition to the new Creamy Chili Dip, customers can also choose from McDonald’s other sauces, including Tangy Barbecue and Spicy Buffalo.
Bringing a new menu item to market involves collaboration across many parts of the company, said Cesar Piña, McDonald’s Senior Vice President and Chief Supply Chain Officer.
“This launch reflects a team effort across suppliers, franchisees, and staff to make sure we’re offering a consistent and quality product,” Piña said.
Customers can order the McCrispy Strips and Creamy Chili Dip in restaurants, through the McDonald’s App, via McDelivery, or at the Drive Thru. Availability may vary by location.
