Megan thee Stallion wants her ex-best friend Kelsey Harris’ boyfriend, a record label executive, to testify for a deposition.
Court documents obtained by RadarOnline show that Megan wants to cross-examine Darien Smith, the executive of 1501 Certified Entertainment.
For years, Megan has been at odds with label president Carl Crawford and 1501. In her lawsuit, she is demanding to be released from her recording contract and believes she is entitled to royalties.
The defendants, on the other hand, have denied any claims of wrongdoing.
Additionally, in the lawsuit, Megan claims to have “endured mistreatment and abuse from 1501 and Crawford, and she’s looking forward to this lawsuit ending soon in a jury of her peers.”
For this to happen, Megan is requesting that Darien testify since he has “first-hand knowledge.”
Megan has accused Crawford and the label of failing and refusing to “work with Pete in good faith to schedule these depositions.”
The motion states that “The Court should compel 1501 to comply with its discovery obligations, produce outstanding documents, and produce the deponents requested for depositions to ensure all outstanding discovery is completed by July 5, 2023. The clock is ticking. Pete is eager to obtain closure; this action has been pending long enough.”
