Megan Thee Stallion’s legal team isn’t staying silent after Tory Lanez’s camp dropped a new website and released footage they say proves his innocence.
The rapper’s team has been working overtime to stir up doubt around his 2022 conviction for shooting Megan, and now, a Florida congresswoman is jumping in to help.
Last week, Rep. Anna Paulina Luna announced she was backing Lanez and planned to push for his release. Megan’s lawyers say her involvement is nothing more than a PR move and an attempt to discredit Megan.
“They’re just recycling trial evidence and calling it new,” said Megan’s attorney, Alex Spiro. “One minute they’re blaming Kelsey Harris, the next they’re saying Megan stepped on glass. Tory Lanez’s team can’t keep a story straight.”
Spiro also called out Luna directly, saying, “It’s embarrassing that Florida Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna is integrating herself into the California criminal justice system for click-bait. Instead, she should be focused on serving her own constituents in Florida rather than chasing celebrities.”
This all follows the release of more footage from Lanez’s side and reports of a new witness backing the claim that Megan was shot by her former friend Kelsey Harris. The same argument was pushed last week by Lanez’s bodyguard in a separate interview.
Megan’s legal team says this strategy is designed to confuse the public with conflicting versions of the story and distract from the actual verdict. They also dropped a presentation of their own last week, laying out facts from the trial and highlighting that no new evidence has surfaced since Lanez’s conviction.
Their message is clear: the case is over, and no amount of spin will change what the court already decided.
