Donald Trump’s “Zero Tolerance” immigration policy, which is responsible for separating migrating families, has caused much outrage across the country.
Now, after representatives for Trump have made it known that the administration will not apologize, someone very close to the President has aired her grievances on the matter.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“Mrs. Trump hates to see children separated from their families and hopes both sides of the aisle can finally come together to achieve successful immigration reform,” Melania Trump’s spokeswoman, Stephanie Grisham, told CNN. “She believes we need to be a country that follows all laws, but also a country that governs with heart.”

Interestingly enough, Melania migrated to the US with her family from Slovenia.

Trump’s policy sees that all adults caught crossing the border will be charged with a federal crime. The difference in this new policy and that of previous administrations is that those with families are now prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law instead of being referred to immigration courts. In turn, these parents are separated from their kids and have nothing more than a hotline to track them down.

Despite his own family’s close ties to immigration, Trump has been everything but empathetic to those involved.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“The United States will not be a migrant camp and it will not be a refugee holding facility,” Trump said, according to a White House pool report.”Not on my watch.”

Trump has also blamed the Democrats in office, for the results of the policy in which his administration enacted.
