Memphis Bleek had time and a mic.
While speaking to TMZ, Bleek addressed the shots Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne took at Jay-Z and the NFL over the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show.
The tension started after Nicki appeared on the remix to Wayne’s track “Banned From NO,” dropping the line: “NFL, fire some n*ggas and then call us.”
Wayne, still salty about being left off the big stage in his hometown of New Orleans, has been vocal about feeling slighted. He believed Jay-Z should’ve tapped him for the performance instead of Kendrick Lamar.
Bleek, who has always been loyal to Hov, wasn’t feeling the disrespect.
“Why? If they fire us, they don’t need no more n*ggas,” Bleek told TMZ. “So, when we done, you ain’t gone’ be able to get that bag. Chill out. We cleaning up, baby girl. You should come clean up with us.”
Still, he made it clear there’s no beef with Nicki. “I love Nicki Minaj,” he said. “I have no harsh words for the Queen of rap.”
When it came to Wayne, Bleek stayed respectful but offered some tough love.
“It would be if you stop digging your own hole,” he said. “Antagonizing and mentioning stuff… Let them come to you. The more you want something, the more it runs from you.”
Even though Nicki’s verse didn’t make the original “Tha Carter VI,” Wayne included it on the bonus edition that followed.
Nicki’s frustration isn’t new. Last year, she stood by Wayne on social media, blaming Jay-Z for blackballing him from the Halftime Show.
“Denying a young Black man what he rightfully put into this game for no other reason but your ego,” she wrote in a now-viral post. “Your hatred for BIRDMAN, Drake & Nicki got you punishing Lil Wayne?!?!!!”
Looks like the NFL may have moved on, but the artists involved haven’t.
