Miami’s Big Orange Won’t Rise For NYE Countdown After Assembly Team Contracts COVID-19

Miami’s famous Big Orange won’t be doing any rising for the upcoming new year after the assembly crew tested positive for COVID-19.

On Tuesday, Miami officials announced the Big Orange would be staying right where it’s at instead of rising for the new year’s eve countdown. Every year in tradition, the Big Orange glides up the side of the InterContinental Hotel in downtown Miami. Big Orange took a break last year as well, due to COVID-19.

However, festivities for the new year are still set to happen. WSVN reports a fireworks show and concert are scheduled at Bayfront Park.
