NFL legend Michael Irvin filed a lawsuit alleging false allegations are ruining his career after he was accused of misconduct by a woman.
The lawsuit was filed Thursday afternoon after Irvin claimed he was victimized by “cancel culture” at the hotel where he was staying.
“Rash and thoughtless actions can have severe consequences. Marriott [parent company of Renaissance Hotels] apparently did not appreciate these simple truths when, in a rush to judgment, its employees and management inaccurately and inflammatorily accused Mr. Irvin of misconduct to the National Football League,” the lawsuit reads.
In the lawsuit, witnesses corroborate Irvin’s claims that he “casually exchanged pleasantries” with the employee “Jane Doe.”
After becoming aware of the allegations, Irvin and his team offered to provide witness accounts to the Renaissance to clarify any misunderstandings, but the hotel refused.
The lawsuit claims that the hotel manager informed the NFL about the alleged incident “with the intention of damaging that relationship and canceling [Irvin].”
Michael’s lawyer, Levi McCathern, claims that the bogus accusations have cost his client money from canceled events and tarnished his reputation.
Irvin is requesting more than $100,000,000.
Currently, there’s no public knowledge of the specifics of the accuser’s claims.
