Following Hulu’s announcement of Mike Tyson’s miniseries without his participation, the boxing legend announced that he would produce a limited series featuring Jamie Foxx. Producers include filmmaker Martin Scorsese and actor Jamie Foxx.
In a statement released Monday, Tyson said, “I’ve been looking to share my story for quite some time.” He hopes to create a series that “not only captures my professional and personal journey but also inspires and entertains.”
The announcement did not specify when or where it would be broadcast.
According to Tyson, this is the “perfect moment” for the project; he launched the Legends Only League last November with an exhibition battle against Roy Jones Jr.
Hulu announced last month that it had ordered the eight-episode series “Iron Mike,” which would focus on “the wild, tragic, and controversial life and career” of the divisive athlete.
There is currently no mention of a release date.
Tyson slammed the production on social media at the time, calling it “cultural misappropriation” and claiming he wasn’t being paid for his story.
