Missing OSU Football Player Found Dead

Kostadinos Karageorge, the OSU student who went missing just before Thanksgiving has been found dead of an apparent suicide.

The 6’5″, 285 pound football player was found dead in a dumpster 1/10 of a mile away from his apartment from what investigators believe to be a self-inflicted gun shot wound. Kosta had been missing since Wednesday after sending a text message about concussions. Earlier this week his sister believed that he was very emotional over the situation.

According to Karageorge’s mom, Kostadinos has been dealing with several concussions and a few spells of being extremely confused. Before his death he text his mom about the concussion and said “I am sorry if I’m an embarrassment.”

Karageorge’s body was found Sunday afternoon. Police used tattoos to identify his body.

I’m speculating that they will look deeper into his suicide to determine if he was suffering from chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE). CTE is diagnosed post-mortem but is found to have been linked to the suicides of so many NFL players. He’s only a college player but who’s to say he hasn’t been playing since he was barely able to walk.

“The Ohio State University Department of Athletics was shocked and saddened to learn today of the death of student-athlete Kosta Karageorge, a senior from Columbus,” the school said in a statement. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the Karageorge family, and those who knew him, during this most difficult time.”

Our condolences to Karageorge’s family.
