Missing Princeton University Student Found Dead Near Campus Tennis Courts

Misrach Ewunetie, the missing Princeton University student, has been found deceased on the school’s New Jersey campus, only deepening the mystery surrounding what happened to her in the six days that she was missing.

Ewunetie’s disappearance left students on high alert as authorities invaded the prestigious college with helicopters, watercrafts, and drones in search of the 20-year-old. She was last seen on Friday, October 14th, at approximately 3:00 a.m. after volunteering at an on-campus eating club event. She returned to her Scully Hall dorm room and was seen sleeping by at least one of her roommates. It is unclear when she left the dorm room again. Her family became concerned after communication with her ceased abruptly.

On Sunday, they contacted the school to perform a welfare check, and a missing report soon followed. Oddly enough, that was the same day that Ewunetie’s phone last pinged in a residential area in Penns Neck about a 7-minute drive from the campus but was then turned off. Ewunetie is from Ohio and is not known to have any connections to the area outside of the school.

Sadly, on Thursday, a facilities employee found her body behind tennis courts on campus at approximately 1:00 p.m. There were no obvious signs of trauma, though the Middlesex County medical examiner has scheduled an autopsy to determine what happened to her.

Ewunetie graduated from Cleveland’s Villa Angela – St. Joseph High School in 2020, where she was the class valedictorian. She was also a graduate of the non-profit group Minds Matter Cleveland, a non-profit that helps students in low-income situations succeed. Ewunetie would go on to earn a full scholarship to Princeton and was looking forward to obtaining her degree in sociology.
