Lizzo’s positive persona has been questioned with a string of shocking allegations, and this week, more employees have come forward to tell their stories of misconduct.Â
As if forcing a dancer to consume a banana from a sex worker’s vagina wasn’t vile enough, Lizzo is now blamed for normalizing similar sexually explicit incidents. A lawyer representing former dancers Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez has confirmed that his office is looking into at least six other cases of ex-staffers accusing the musician of curating a hostile and perverted work environment. Some of the new complainants are also going after Lizzo for failing to pay them. This additional set of employees all worked on the singer’s “Lizzo’s Watch Out for the Big Grrrls” Amazon series and subsequent tour.
It’s unclear exactly what events transpired with each of the new accusers. Still, employment law attorney Ron Zambrano says their claims are similar to previous ones brought against the Grammy award winner.Â
“Some of the claims we are reviewing may be actionable, but it is too soon to say,” Zambrano told NBC News.Â
Dancers have accused Lizzo of body shaming by pointing out weight gain, failing to tell them they were going to a sex show in Amsterdam during a night out, and threatening them with physical violence, amongst other things. The 35-year-old denounced the lawsuits, calling the many claims untrue.
“My work ethic, morals, and respectfulness have been questioned. My character has been criticized. Usually, I choose not to respond to false accusations but these are as unbelievable as they sound and too outrageous not to be addressed,” she wrote in an Instagram post.
Currently, no criminal charges are pending against Lizzo, though other lawsuits are likely to appear in forthcoming weeks.
