Muni Long has opened a window into some of the most painful chapters of her life, sharing the heartache that followed her recent split from her estranged husband and former business partner, Raysean Hairston.
In a deeply vulnerable social media post, the “Made for Me” star gave her fans a poignant look into the emotional toll of their relationship, drawing from raw excerpts in her personal diary, which documents Hairston’s messaging other women online, their toxic arguments and even a last attempt to try therapy, which he refused.
Long, who only recently disclosed that she has a son, a revelation that took many by surprise, has kept most details of her marriage quiet until recently, announcing their split last August. Long admitted the heavy weight she carries, especially during what should be joyous times, as she reflects on the marriage ending.
“Sometimes I get sad around the holidays, and I wish things were different,” she confessed in her caption. “Then I read some of the things I wrote in my diary, and I feel disgusted that I allowed this kind of behavior at all.”
Accompanying her post, she included a diary entry from August 2021, a time before the release of her breakout hit, “Hrs & Hrs.” The note painted a picture of emotional survival, with Long admitting, “I had to find a way to survive the situation I was in so I started documenting things in real time.”
She added, “I have tried to tell my story to family and friends, but it sounds so crazy no one believes me. Again, this is just one entry. And it’s not even that bad.”
Closing her message with a heartfelt plea, Long urged her female fans, “yourself ladies. Get away from anyone who doesn’t treat you right.”
