Muni Long Sued by Ex-Managers Who Say She Owes Over $600K in Commissions After Career Comeback

Muni Long

Muni Long is facing serious legal drama as her former management team claims she walked away from a major financial agreement.

The “Hrs & Hrs” hitmaker is being sued by her ex-managers, Chaka Zulu and Jeff Dixon, who allege she owes them over $600,000 in unpaid commissions. According to the lawsuit docs, Zulu and Dixon’s company, Ebony Son Entertainment, helped rebuild Long’s career, secure performance opportunities, and land lucrative deals after her music resurgence.

They allege that in 2023, during the Essence Festival, Muni Long verbally agreed to pay them 20 percent of her gross revenue plus expenses, which they say is a standard rate in the industry.

The complaint says that after a year of steady payments, Long suddenly stopped sending commissions in October 2024. By January of this year, she had allegedly cut off communication and ended the partnership altogether.

“Muni Long shamelessly reneged on her promises to pay Plaintiff the agreed upon, customary percentage of revenue she earned, and only earned because Plaintiff assisted in obtaining those engagements,” the lawsuit reads. “This stunning display of ungratefulness and lack of integrity compels Plaintiff’s pursuit of the claims in the Complaint to obtain that which rightfully belongs to Plaintiff.”

Ebony Son claims it helped generate more than $5 million in total revenue for the singer through touring, performances, and songwriting opportunities.

The company says it is still owed roughly $612,000 and accuses Long of hiding assets through her multiple business ventures, including Super Giant Records LLC, Muni Long Inc., Muni World Inc., and White Rose Garden LLC.

If the court sides with the plaintiffs, Muni Long could be ordered to repay the full amount, undergo a financial audit, and have her verbal management deal legally recognized.

While Long hasn’t addressed the situation publicly, the lawsuit comes just as she was gearing up to promote her single “Delulu.”
