Mystery Murder Weapon That Was Linked To Tupac’s Murder Has Been Destroyed

Just weeks after reports surfaced of the missing murder weapon that was used in the 1996 drive-by shooting that killed #Tupac Shakur, the weapon has reportedly been tracked down.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Initially, TMZ reported that a .40 caliber Glock was found in Compton back in ’98, but went unnoticed for years after the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department took over Compton law enforcement. In 2006, when the gun turned up and was tested, ballistics showed that it matched the gun used in the shooting. However, the publication reported that the information never made it to Las Vegas to help solve the case.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Now, TMZ has reportedly gotten to the bottom of the missing murder weapon. According to the publication, although the gun tested as a possible match for the murder weapon used in Tupac’s murder, it also matched another unsolved case in Vegas. As a result, the feds reportedly sent the weapon to Vegas, prompting city officials to test the weapon on its own. However, upon further research, officials reportedly determined that the gun did not match Pac’s case.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

From there, the gun was sent back to the feds to sit in storage for seven years until ATF took inventory in 2013. The officials got the OK from LV cops to discard it and that was it. The gun is gone, the case is still open and the murder remains unsolved.
