Nappy Roots rapper Fish Scales was robbed, kidnapped, and then shot in Atlanta.
On Wednesday, Atlanta police were called to a robbery at Atlantucky Brewery, co-owned by Scales. According to police, two suspects initially robbed a customer in the parking lot.
The suspects then walked into the establishment with firearms and demanded cash. However, Scales, whose real name is William Hughes, said the brewery is cashless and only accepts credit cards.
Once the suspects realized they weren’t getting any cash, they forced Scales into his vehicle and made him drive to get cash.
“They also forced the owner at gunpoint into his vehicle and fled toward Hapeville,” said Capt. Christian Hunt.
Scales attempted to escape but got into a scuffle with the suspects. He was ultimately shot in the leg but managed to flee to a house for help.
The suspects got away with roughly $30 and are still on the run. As for Scales, he is currently in the hospital but is in good condition. Hapeville police were able to recover the stolen vehicle and will return it to Atlanta police for investigation.
