North Carolina Republican governor nominee Mark Robinson is under fire after an explosive CNN KFile investigation uncovered a series of disturbing comments made on an adult website more than a decade ago. The comments, allegedly made by Robinson under the username “minisoldr,” were graphic and offensive, featuring claims of self-identifying as a “black NAZI” and expressing support for reinstating slavery.
Despite his current hardline stance on social issues, the archived messages also reveal that Robinson, now North Carolina’s lieutenant governor, expressed a preference for transgender pornography, even as he has publicly spoken out against transgender rights. Robinson, who has denied making the comments, is accused of sharing these inflammatory remarks between 2008 and 2012 on the website “Nude Africa.”
The investigation found numerous sexually explicit and derogatory comments made by the user “minisoldr,” a moniker linked to Robinson through biographical details and a shared email address. CNN was able to connect the dots by matching this email to several online accounts used by Robinson over the years.
The timing and nature of the comments stand in stark contrast to Robinson’s public persona. He has made a name for himself with strong rhetoric against LGBTQ+ rights, especially transgender issues. Earlier this year, at a campaign rally, Robinson made it clear he believes transgender individuals should be barred from using bathrooms that align with their gender identity, even advocating for arrests in such cases.
However, the private comments attributed to him tell a very different story. One particularly shocking post detailed a vivid memory from his teenage years when he described secretly watching women shower in a gym. He wrote, “I sat there for about an hour and watched as several girls came in and showered… Ahhhhh memories!!!!”
Robinson also reportedly shared his fascination with transgender pornography, writing, “I like watching tranny on girl porn! That’s f*cking hot! It takes the man out while leaving the man in!” The stark contrast between his public statements and these alleged comments has left many questioning his integrity and sincerity.
In an interview with CNN, Robinson flatly denied that the posts were his, despite the overwhelming evidence linking him to the username and comments. “This is not us. These are not our words. And this is not anything that is characteristic of me,” he said, suggesting that the messages were fabricated. He dismissed the revelations as “salacious tabloid lies” and refused to elaborate further.
Robinson’s campaign has been slow to respond, taking two days to issue a formal denial after being presented with the evidence. Despite the controversy, he remains defiant, emphasizing his commitment to the governor’s race and attacking his opponent, Democratic Attorney General Josh Stein.
“We are not getting out of this race. There are people who are counting on us to win this race,” Robinson stated, dismissing the reports as a distraction from the real issues facing North Carolinians.
As the scandal unfolds, it’s unclear how these allegations will impact Robinson’s campaign, but they have certainly added a new level of scrutiny to his bid for North Carolina’s highest office.
