Nelly Declares Jermaine Dupri Would Have “Murdered” Diddy in a Verzuz Battle [Video]

Nelly recently gave Jermaine Dupri his flowers, even stating that he would win in a Verzuz against his peers, including Diddy.

During his recent chat with “Drink Champs,” N.O.R.E. asked the “Ride Wit Me” star about the Verzuz battles. First, he asked Nelly who he would pick between Timbaland and Jermaine Dupri, to which Nelly quickly chose Dupri, calling him a “sniper.” He then brought up a hypothetical battle between Dupri and Diddy, confidently stating that Dupri would win by a landslide.

“Respectfully, and outside of current situations, him and Puff do Verzuz, Puff is going to get murdered. Easy,” Nelly stated. “Puff is smart…He knew he didn’t want no part…Why you think he wanted to hold Verzuz in New York? JD can hold Verzuz anywhere. Puff only wanted to hold Verzuz in New York.”

Back in 2020, both producers began teasing the idea of a face-off. Diddy wanted to have the showdown at Madison Square Garden, but the deal never came to fruition. Dupri trolled Diddy, stating Bad Boy artists couldn’t perform their records—seemingly a dig at the mogul’s contentious relationship with many of his past artists. Now, with Diddy’s mounting legal issues, such a showdown is unlikely ever to take place.
