According to a recent lawsuit, NeNe Leakes claims that the people who make “Real Housewives of Atlanta” allow a toxic work environment filled with racism.
Her lawsuit accuses the makers behind the reality show of ignoring her complaints about Kim Zolciak-Biermann’s racist taunts directed her way for years.
As outlined in the complaint, NeNe claims Kim, who is not being sued, made numerous racist and stereotypical comments at her and Kandi Burruss and even used the n-word toward NeNe and the other Black Housewives.
Her lawsuit claims she complained about Kim’s alleged comments, but she was not punished and instead rewarded with her own spinoff series, while NeNe had to leave the show due to her complaints.
According to NeNe, the execs behind ‘RHOA’ tried to prevent her from discussing Black Lives Matter in scenes with the other cast members.
Nene is suing NBCUniversal, Bravo, True Entertainment, Truly Original, and Andy Cohen for creating an environment where racially-insensitive and inappropriate behavior is tolerated, if not encouraged.
In her suit, she claims that the makers of ‘RHOA’ violated both employment and anti-discrimination laws, and she is suing for damages.
